FRIENDS BY DESIGN
Some friendships are more special than others.
There are old friends, new friends, close friends, and friends from faraway places.
And then there are friends by design.
Friends by design are different, because the act of making something together creates a different social bond. Finding and sharing an idea means diving deeper into each other’s minds and exploring our different cultures to find the intersections.
This takes us somewhere new.
Sometimes it can even make us vulnerable.
Through this we grow, and what we create becomes not only a symbol of our joint expression, but a souvenir of this time spent together.
We love making things with friends from everywhere.
Friends by design is about honoring our friends from everywhere and the creativity we share. This we think is the essence of travel, creating the moments and
artefacts that bring us together, reminding us of the places we have been, the people we have known,
the mouths we have kissed...
Even long after we have returned home.
When DB approached me with the opportunity to project manage Friends by Design in tandem with evo Denver & Salt Lake City, the answer was a hard yes. As a ski and snowboard industry, we on the in side have been feeling an ever-growing division amongst brands and amongst our communities as a whole. Friend By Design was our response in taking brands from all across the globe and bringing them together for an evening under one roof and under one common goal: Creating something beautiful together. We spent weeks on zoom calls, packed our bags, set up galleries, and met friends from the other side of the world that will will cherish forever.
